Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Questions

What is the purpose of Isaiah's Stump ?
To advance the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.

What are some of the things Isaiah's Stump does to advance the Kingdom of Christ?

  • Provide administrative assistance to supported missionaries which allows them to spend most of their time in their called activities:  evangelism, hosting prayer meetings, running Bible studies, etc.
  • Provide no cost housing to missionaries on furlong – allowing them to experience restoration, discipleship, or even just simple peace and quiet.  This allows them to go back into the field ready for action.  Currently, this has been on a very small scale due to lack of space.  God willing, we will be opening a much larger facility in Hawaii (see next bullet item)
  • Conduct discipleship training classes.  Primarily, ICI Level I:  a four segment class consisting of Christlikeness, Humility, Prayer, and Unity.
  • Provide assistance with prayer meetings held by a number of individuals and churches in our community.
  • Organize "prayer team sorties" as needed:  our pet name for a prayer team pulled together and on their way to pray in person for an urgent prayer need.

Where did the name Isaiah's Stump come from ?
Read Isaiah 6.

When was Isaiah's Stump started ?
Isaiah's Stump evolved over a period of years, but became a California Corporation on January 30, 2004. It was recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) on September 9, 2005. Hosted our first missionary family the summer of 2003. Isaiah's Stump received it's first general fund donation on December 24, 2004 and it's first ministry designated donation on November 4, 2004.

What is a supported ministry ?
Most are individuals or couples engaged in missionary efforts in the community in which they live.  We support them primarily with administrative tasks.  We do not "own" or control them.  We simply help our brothers and sisters in Christ where they need it and we can provide it.

What kinds of administrative assistance do you provide ?
It really depends on what the individual ministry needs!  Sometimes it can be as simple as prayer or consel, but usually includes donation processing, generation of donation receipts, 1099 form preparation, etc.

What do you charge for these services ?
We do not charge the ministries for any of our services.  We do have a nominal charge for our costs on extraordinary items like bounced check fees.  These items are extremely rare and fully documented for our supported ministry folks.  We organize independent fundraising activities to support Isaiah's Stump itself, but are always grateful for any support folks feel led to provide us.

How can I have Isaiah's Stump support my ministry ?
We have currently suspended adding new supported ministries to allow us to focus on enhancing our business processes, computer systems, etc.

What church is Isaiah's Stump affiliated with ?
While Isaiah's Stump is non-denominational, we enjoy worshipping and fellowship with a number of denominational and home churches.

How do I give to a supported Ministry or Isaiah's Stump ?
Send your check or money order to Isaiah's Stump with your name, address, and either your phone number or e-mail address.  If you wish your donation to be used for a specific purpose or ministry, please include a note to that effect or briefly indicate in the check's memo space.  We are currently working out details to permit donations via PayPal.

What are the future plans for Isaiah's Stump ?
Our current major goal is to build the Hawaii Retreat Center:  a place for missionaries, pastors, and other Church leaders to seek God, teach, be taught, pray, and praise God – all in an environment free of condemnation or expectations that promotes refreshing and restoration.

Is my donation tax deductible ?
Yes, it is.  Isaiah's Stump is a recognized 501(c)(3) organization.  Isaiah's Stump provides tax receipts for all charitable donations, along with an annual donation summary for tax purposes.

Why do you want my telephone number and/or e-mail address ?
On occasion, there is a question directly related to a donation.  We will never share your information with any other organization nor will you receive a barrage of "requests" from us.  It is simply to allow us to contact you should your donation receipt be returned by the US postal service or we are unclear on how you wish your donation to be used.

Why doesn't Isaiah's Stump take credit cards ?
The fees charged by credit card companies are several percentage points, at minimum.  This would mean a significant reduction in income to supported ministries.  If you feel that a lack of credit card acceptance to be a giving barrier for you, please share that with us.  We do revisit this issue from time to time.

My question isn't answered here, may I contact Isaiah's Stump directly ?
Absolutely!  You may contact us via US mail, e-mail, or telephone at your convenience.
